HCG Diet Shopping List

Unlike other diets, there are no complications about what to eat on the HCG diet. Everything on the “allowed” list of food is simple and non-exotic. This easy to follow system was devised by Dr. Simeons when he first developed his HCG diet protocol and it is one of the reasons why the HCG diet continues to be so successful—instead of spending many hours hunting for exotic and expensive ingredients, you only need to buy simple, healthy whole foods in order to make the HCG diet work.

What foods do I add to my HCG shopping list?

Fruits and vegetables are a key part of the HCG diet. Where possible, always buy organic fruit and vegetables since they contain lower levels of toxins and are always more flavorsome. Fruits and vegetables allowed on the HCG diet include:

  • Apples
  • Oranges
  • Grapefruit
  • Strawberries
  • Lemons
  • Cucumbers
  • Asparagus
  • Cabbage
  • Onions
  • Spinach
  • Tomatoes
  • Celery
  • Radishes
  • Lettuce

Some fish and lean meat is allowed on the HCG diet, including:

  • Crab
  • Shrimp
  • Cod
  • Tilapia
  • Chicken
  • Veal

You can also eat Melba toast and Grissini breadsticks.

What should I drink on the HCG diet?

Water should be your main drink while on the HCG diet. Be careful not to drink TOO much as this can be dangerous, but between 6 and 8 glasses of water per day is a good amount to aim for. Fill a water bottle up in the morning and use it to measure how much you are actually drinking so you can adjust the amount if necessary. Green tea is also an acceptable drink on the HCG diet as it can help to boost energy levels and act as a detox drink.

Is there anything else I need to buy for the HCG diet?

You will need a set of scales to weigh yourself each day. For best results, choose digital scales. And finally, buy a small set of kitchen scales so you can accurately weigh your food to make sure you are not eating too big a portion.
