Different meanings of Ares
Ares filesharing software introduced a number of different features to ’standard’ filesharing programs. Not only does it work efficiently and quietly even where both peers are behind firewalls, but it supports hashlinks functionality, meaning Ares is able to search for peers with files pertaining to a hash and download from them.
Ares is also the name of the NASA-designed rocket Ares V that is designed to work in conjunction with Ares I as part of Project Constellation, the mission that plans to return to the Moon in 2019. Ares V will be able to carry around 65 tons all the way to the Moon. Impressive.
Ares was the name of probably the most feared of all the Greek Gods; he was a God of war, of slaughter, of bloodlust and savage warfare. The Greeks – more than happy with your standard murder and killing, but not with the kind of stuff that Ares got his kicks from – distrusted him and, almost universally, disliked him.
