Miscellaneous ramblings about everything and nothing

Archive for July, 2008

I recently spent a thoroughly enjoyable week in Phuket on vacation. I went with a few friends from the golf club and it was intended, from the start, to be a boys’ week.

Phuket is an idyllic retreat with absolutely fantastic beaches, great food, fantastic nightclubs and beautiful, gorgeous, sensuous, adorable women. We first met some of these luscious creatures in the Phuket bars that are dotted around town.

I say “dotted around town” but that doesn’t give their number justice: Phuket bars are very numerous indeed, and take up the majority of one of the central streets. One note: Phuket bars are world renowned for very good reason: they’re absolutely the best place for a group of young men to hang around in that I have ever encountered. Great times.

There are so many Phuket bars around town that it’s virtually impossible to visit them all. Fortunately they are grouped together in such a way that you can travel very quickly between them. Visiting all may be impossible, but we certainly give it our best shot! This was definitely one of the very best vacations I have ever had the good fortune to have had. Definitely recommended to boys, girls and families alike!

I assumed getting iPhone music would be easy. Actually, it was: places like iTunes offer a very simple to use service that anyone (even me) could wield with ease. The problem was that, paying per track, I soon racked up a considerable bill.

My first thought was to download the iPhone music for free. While this is a totally feasible option I didn’t like the idea: everyone to there own, and everything, but I wanted the artists to get something back for what I was getting from them.

So I did some more research and found that there were services available that allowed me to download as much iPhone music as I wanted to for a flat monthly fee (and in one case a flat lifetime fee – hurrah!)

Once I’d got the music I wanted I encountered a further problem: apparently my iPhone music wasn’t compatible with my iPhone (this being caused by my using a general music download site rather than one specifically designed for iPhone music).

Never fear! At Google’s advice I downloaded some conversion software and everything worked as it should; I even found some similar software that allows me to convert some video files that I have downloaded (my favorite TV show!).

Options for Free Ares Download

posted by Laura

I’m a hardened filesharing geek, I suppose. I’ve been doing it long enough to know perhaps a little too much about it.

So when the confusion set in when I came to choose a free Ares download, I was quite frankly surprised. There are so many options for a free Ares download that it simply blew my mind! Wow! I remember the days not so long ago when Ares Galaxy was the only viable option.

I think what shocked me most was just how much better than the original Ares Galaxy some of these newer versions of Ares were. They’ve fixed up most of the bugs that plagued the system from the start (and have still not been fixed); they’ve simply made the software a lot better. If you’ve not changed your version of Ares for a few months then I would definitely advise you to go in search of a free Ares download.

A good place to start for those wanting to get a free Ares download is OfficialAres.com. It has information that’s very useful for veterans and novices, and their unbiased approach means you can trust what’s written there: the site is there for your benefit. Good to know!

Rich history of Salvia

posted by Laura

Today when we think of Salvia we probably think “currently legal hallucinogenic that will soon be banned”. And we’d probably be right. But just a few years ago the drug was hardly known at all. Salvia was a relative unknown in the legal hallucinogen world.

The breakthrough for Salvia came late in 1998 when a UK documentary analyzed the drug and asked what its future was. Surely, the documentary said, this thing would be more popular if more people knew about it. How right they were: the word about Salvia got out quickly and its popularity spread. College students especially were enamored with Salvia and it was from a University paper that many of the bigger news outlets first found out about the drug.

In the early part of the turn of the century outlets selling Salvia started appearing over the Internet. The word got out and these Internet stores. Unaffected by the stigma attached to physical outlets by those who disapproved of the sale of mind altering hallucinogenics the stores have done a roaring trade. They are still popular today as Salvia goes through what may be its death throes.

Despite this rich history Salvia remains woefully misunderstood and those that want to bad are driven by PR and public perception rather than hard facts. But then what decisions don’t have this basis?

We’re all dreamers. Some of us dream more than others but we’re all guilty of staring at a house, a car or even someone’s lifestyle, and thinking to ourselves “I wish I had that”. What sets some of us apart from the others is that we actually do something about getting closer to attaining those dreams.

I have managed to get some of my dreams. I have a nice house and a nice car. I travel first class and I’m able to spend more time with my wonderful family. My secret? Hard work on running my own home business, nothing more and nothing less.

The wonderful thing about a home based business – the thing that makes it work for me — is that the more I put in, the more I get out. From this I don’t just mean money and material wealth, but in a ‘warm fuzzy feeling inside’ kind of way. A home business also provides me with real immediate benefits too, and I’m able to spend more time with my family and working on projects that I really care about.

As someone who has been there and done that, I can offer this small piece of advice: keep on dreaming, keep hoping, keep wanting. But be prepared to make that jump and to do something about it now. A home business is an excellent way to make the jump from ‘wanting’ to ‘having’.

iPhone Accessories will emerge with 3G

posted by Sashi

There’s no doubt that owning an iPhone is a full time job: you’ve got to show it off to your friends, you’ve got to let them have a little go on it, and, most importantly, you’ve got to keep up with any of your other friends (or enemies) and make sure you’ve got more up to date iPhone accessories than them.

Fortunately, it’s easy to rack up on your iPhone accessories because there are so many of them around. Both Apple themselves and many independent designers and manufacturers are churning out great (and not so great) iPhone accessories almost as we speak.

The more pragmatic iPhone accessories are largely quite boring but useful affairs: the cover and screen protector spring to mind. These are pretty much essential pieces of kit for any iPhone owner, but they can be beefed up a little with different colors and designs.

As well as being a phone, the iPhone is a top of the range music player; it is, essentially, the top of the iPod tree. For this reason you’re going to have to have some headphones. The Bose iPhone headset brings top quality Bose headphones to the iPhone accessories range. Not essential, but certainly worth their price tag. And they look pretty cool, too.

Download Ares at officialares.com

posted by Laura

I’m a bit of a current affairs buff. Any type of news and comment really interests me. One thing I’m very keen on finding out more about the continually interesting world of filesharing. As a lawyer the legal aspect of it particularly interests me. A good source for me is www.officialares.com. The news section on the site allows me to keep abreast of the comings and goings of the main players on this stage – it’s as complex as any TV soap opera.

It’s a great place to download Ares in its many forms, too. If you’re confused about which is the best way to download Ares then the multitude of very honest reviews should help you make an informed decision. I’m not new to the filesharing game but I did find a better version of Ares after finding the site. If your intention is just to download Ares then you’ll do well to come here and poke around for a while before making the final leap.

The FAQs are useful for newcomers that have decided to download Ares but don’t know which way to turn next. If you’ve got a problem with your version of Ares then there might just be some information here that will help you find a solution. All around this is a good site with some great writing and some very useful information.

Home Business Reviews

posted by admin

Embarking on your own home business is an exciting time; you can almost feel the benefits of working for yourself on terms that suit you best. At the same time you know there is a lot of research to be done first.

One way to start this research is to have a look around for a home business review on your chosen area. A home business review can not only give you an idea of what a business opportunity entails, but also what is required of you in making this business grow.

One of the best places to start in your search for a home business review, and for lots of other information related to working from home and small businesses in general, is CitizenCorps.com. There is likely to be a home business review relating to your business area of choice; if not the general information will be of use in making your choice.

Starting your own business is a brave thing to do and it pays to get the research right in the first place. A home business review is just a tool in your research toolbox, but it is one that can really make the difference between epic success and epic failure before you even start.
