iPhone Downloads

posted by Sashi

The iPhone SDK downloads has recently been announced by Apple. And what a stir it caused! ‎Within four days of the announcement of the beta version of the toolkit, over 100,000 ‎downloads for iPhone had occurred. That’s quite some interest. While we appreciate not all of ‎these iPhone apps downloads will be from people who are intending to develop full applications ‎for the iPhone, it still gives some indication of the power of Apple’s marketing ‎department.‎
The iPhone SDK isn’t just exciting news for fans, it’s incredibly good news for ‎developers eager to port their new games to the system. The iPhone apps SDK should ‎make iPhone apps download and software development much easier, and should allow seamless integration with ‎other products on the platform.‎
Development companies such as Namco and PopCap are justifiably excited about the ‎iPhone SDK as it means they can finally begin the process of exporting their popular ‎games – generally with simple concepts and control – for sale in Apple’s iPhone applications ‎for download in thestore.‎

Sony vs Ares for free music downloads

posted by admin

When Sony BMG sneezes, the music industry gets a cold. When it agrees a partnership with a free online music downloads service, the whole world stands up, shocked, to take notice. If there were every to be an emphatic announcement that free music downloads were the future of the music industry, then this is it.

Peter Gabriel’s ad-supported online music store, We7, has earned the support of the publishing giant. We7 will provide Sony’s back catalogue, in full, for streaming from its site.

We7 offers music downloads – free of cost and free of DRM – of over 2 million tracks to its users. A 10 second advertisement is added to the start of the track but if you keep the track for over a month this advertisement can be removed and the track kept forever. It is a fantastic service and we all must wish it the best of luck.

Music Downloads are here to stay, and the industry leaders like Ares are getting more competition everday.
